Suppose you’re not a member of your local gym or plugged into the wellness corners of the internet. In that case, you may be unfamiliar with Creatine and L-Glutamine—two products that aid in workout recovery, among other things.
These popular performance-enhancing powders are in the same category as other workout essentials, like Whey Protein, and mix easily into your daily routine and favorite recipes. Many fitness enthusiasts take these powders how they’d take their pre-workout, consistently, daily, and before a pump. However, these powders can benefit everybody, even if you’re not trying to beat personal records.
Here’s what you need to know about Sports Research® Creatine Monohydrate:
Creatine is an amino acid found in the muscles and the brain. Enough of it in the body ensures the protein-building necessary for optimal muscle performance. Supplementing with Creatine supports gains in lean muscle, strength, and workout recovery.*
You can experience the benefits of Creatine by taking it before or after a workout; all it takes is one scoop daily! If you’re a beginner to Creatine and want to see faster results, studies show following a loading period, where you take higher doses of the powder for the first five days, can help accelerate the muscle-saturation process.*
And what about Sports Research® L-Glutamine?
Out of 20 amino acids (i.e., the building blocks of protein), L-Glutamine is the most abundant and versatile; it plays a role in maintaining a healthy gut and immune system and aiding in workout recovery.*
Our 100% fermented L-Glutamine—made in the USA—is made using a proprietary 5-step purification process, resulting in a high-quality fine powder that mixes easily into your favorite drinks and your daily routine. Add one scoop to your favorite beverage 1-2 times daily or two scoops before a workout to reap its full recovery-enhancing benefits and receive gut and immune support.
My Experience:
Creatine
As a fitness enthusiast, I decided to try the loading period by taking a higher powder dosage for the first five days of using the product and observing how I felt.
One of the first things I noticed towards the end of my experimentation week was bloating. I mainly experienced bloating in my arms and stomach, a side effect of the loading period I had heard of while researching the product.
However, despite this, my workouts felt very effective, and I left each gym session that week feeling energized and stronger and experienced less muscle soreness.
L-Glutamine
My week of taking L-Glutamine was nothing short of amazing.
The week before starting my experiment with L-Glutamine, I intentionally chose to forgo working out to see if the powder would genuinely help with muscle fatigue and soreness when I began working out again, and boy, did it EVER!
When I should have been so sore my first week back working out after taking a week off, I wasn’t after taking this supplement. Not only did it help with repairing my muscles, but I also noticed an improvement in my gut. As someone who’s struggled with a “leaky gut,” my digestion can work to rebuild its microbiome (aka “gut buddies”).
Overall, I recommend these products to anyone whose health allows it. These products benefit everybody, from the most passionate fitness enthusiast to the individual just beginning their wellness journey.
Happy supplementing!
